Accountable for the management and results of the Infrastructure Applications Support, Software Distribution Teams, and B2B Systems teams.



Responsibilities:



* Lead a team responsible for supporting and the implementation of maintenance for Safeways enterprise identity management, B2B systems, and Middleware. This includes developing well-defined plans including testing and implementation procedures.

* Provide leadership, implementation, and technical architecture experience.

* Monitor technology trends such as emerging standards for new technology opportunities.

* Work within engineering and development plans/schedules, providing technical designs and guidance.

* Ensure adherence to technical architecture standards and practices to ensure reproducible development and high quality.

* Engage in hands-on, in-depth analysis, review, design and implementation of applications.

* Provide employee coaching and mentoring.

* Evaluates and implements procedures for maximum efficiency and cost containment.

* Ensure customers are provided timely support and service in accordance with our goal of Service Excellence.

* Provide input and justification for project costs, capital expenditures, and budgets.

* Maintain and enforce the security of the environment, ensuring the company meets the letter and spirit of its published security policies.

* Continually looking for areas of process, team and operational improvement and provides solution proposals and ensures follow up.

* Motivates team to work together in the most efficient manner and effectively utilizes each team member to his/her fullest potential.

* Maintain appropriate staffing model / levels to meet all team commitments.





Qualifications:



* Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field with a minimum of five years in information technology.

* Three plus years in leading a cross-platform, cross-technology thinking team.

* 5 years+ Software Architecture and Engineering required.

* 2 years+ Java/J2EE design/development required.

* 5 years+ Middleware design/development required.

* 2 years+ Sun IAM.

* Demonstrated experience in software development, including software development methods and processes, such as XP, scrum, OpenUP, or Rational Unified Process.

* Strong team collaboration and process-based work style required.

* Ability to train and coach team members.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Experience mentoring and training others.

* Experience developing and delivering enterprise software.

* Knowledge and experience in implementation of Highly Available software / hardware solutions is required.

* Languages :C++, J2EE.

* Databases: UDB, Oracle, SQL.

* Middleware: WebLogic, WebSphere, Vignette, Apache, WebMethods.

* Systems: Linux, AIX, Windows.
